Health benefits of bissy herb

This herb was able to sustain me until I reached a medical doctor due to poisoning by pineapple fruit. This might really sound strange and unbelievable, but it did happen to me. This was the first time I realized that a person could be poisoned by pineapple fruit. This can happen if a person is hungry at the time of eating the fruit.  Bizzy may have completely cured me from the poisoning, but to be on the safe side my mother took me to the doctor the following morning.

In regards to its other health benefits, it is extremely effective due to its high tannic acid component. The dried bissy nut is made up of forty-six percent starch. It also contains sucrose, glucose, caffeine, fats, tannin as well as gum.

It is a good herbal remedy for menstrual cramps, headache, gout, rheumatism, jaundice, nausea, vomiting, nerve problems and indigestion. It is also useful to purify the blood, treat eye inflammation, ease headaches, fight fatigue as well as depression.

To alleviate hunger, some people just add bizzy to some country style chocolate and consumed until hunger strikes again.

Jamaicans have found it to be helpful with the treatment of Chikungunya virus which is transmitted through the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
